The Vietnam security agency has received Pham Thi Phuong who was arrested for illegally infiltrating Vietnam to perpetrate terrorist activities.

Leaders of the Ministry of Public Security’s Anti-Terrorism Department on April 28 said that Phuong, who was born on June 8, 1945 and is a former resident of Suoi Nho commune, Dinh Quan district of the south eastern province of Dong Nai, was accused of “defrauding and appropriating properties” and “fabricating documents of organisations and agencies” in 2002 but she fled, and law enforcement agency has been looking for her since. On April 19, 2010, Phuong and her husband Pham Ba Huy were arrested by local police while attempting to return undetected to Vietnam from Thailand by road.

At the investigation agency, Phuong confessed that in December 2002 she fled to Thailand to stay in Chiang Mai city to seek political asylum. According to Phuong, once in Thailand , she became acquainted with a US citizen, Nguyen Cong Bang, head of the overseas department of a terrorist organisation called “The Government of Free Vietnam” headed by Nguyen Huu Chanh who is now the head of a terrorist organisation called “For the People Party”. Phuong related having had direct meetings with Nguyen Cong Bang and Nguyen Thanh Hai who is Bang’s henchman in Bangkok . They lured Phuong to become involved in their party and pledged to help Phuong and her family settle in a third country. After Phuong agreed to participate in the organisation, they trained her in how to make contact through the Internet and in the use of explosives and weapons for terrorist activities to sabotage Vietnam .

According to her story, on April 18, 2010, Bang gave 5,000 USD to Phuong and forced her to infiltrate the homeland to implement the terrorist plot in Ho Chi Minh City . Bang promised to give Phuong 1,000 USD to carry out each plan, but if Phuong refused, she would be ‘disappeared’ by the “For the People Party” members.

Phuong has so far made sincere declarations and confessed that Bang assigned her to implement terrorist activities to sabotage Vietnam which were thwarted by relevant forces./.
