A seminar on Vietnamese-Spanish economic potential and opportunities for cooperation has been held in Madrid , Spain .
When addressing the seminar, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his pleasure at the fine development of the relationship between both countries, especially after setting up their strategic partnership.
According to Vietnam ’s Ambassador to Spain , Truong Trieu Duong, two-way trade between the two countries has been averaging an annual growth of 30 percent, however, it has not yet matched their full potential.
Many Vietnamese and Spanish businesses expect that investment opportunities between the two countries will increase in the future.
The seminar was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Spain and the Spanish Confederation of Employers and is part of a series of events to mark the 35 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Spain .
To mark the occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy and Madrid ’s Municipal Authorities jointly held a Vietnamese culture and food festival, featuring the Hue Royal Court Music Ensemble.
The Spanish weekly magazine “Cambio” also interviewed Ambassador Duong, who stressed that Vietnam sees Spain as a gateway into the European Union and highly values Spain supporting the Southeast Asian country’s development.-VNA
