A Malaysia Airlines passenger jet carrying 300 passengers and crew made an emergency landing at its departure point, Melbourne airport in Australia, on June 12 after an engine fire was reported, foreign media reported.

The incident occurred minutes after the jet left the airport en route to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The plane landed safely at an aviation rescue site after dumping its fuel, the media said, quoting the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.

A preliminary inspection revealed no evidence of fire externally, but further assessments are currently underway.
