Hanoi (VNA) - Malaysia and China plan to sign several agreements on defence cooperation following Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's visit to China, Malaysian Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu said on April 24.

Sabu was quoted by international media as saying on the sidelines of the Moscow Conference on International Security in Russia that cooperation between his country with China will only be improved by Mahathir’s visit, after which a number of agreements on defence activities will be signed.

The same day, Mahathir arrived in Beijing, beginning his five-day working visit to China.

According to media reports, the PM is set to attend the second Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, among others.-VNA
