Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – As many as 62 foreign women and nine Malaysians were arrested on May 1 during an operation against illegal workers jointly held by the Immigration Department and relevant authorities in Johor state.

Immigration Director General Mustafar Ali said that the campaign, called “Op Gegar”, was carried out following information on prostitution activities related to foreign women at massage parlours in the city.

Relevant authorities made a raid on three massage centres and nabbed 62 women for violating immigration law, he highlighted, adding that nine local people were caught for concealing illegal foreign workers.

Earlier, the Immigration Department also implemented illegal labourer crackdowns in Johor and Selangor states.
