Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2019 exhibition is one of the avenues for Malaysia to attract more quality investment and spur the growth of the industries, said the country’s Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu.

He said on March 25 that LIMA is useful for Malaysia to expand their network, prioritise, rebalance, and strategise efforts to further strengthen the industry.

He added through the various ministries and agencies, LIMA has been pushed to break free from the “defence only” event to a more distinct platform for industries to thrive on.

The minister noted a total of 119,200 sq.m. has been occupied at the main venue at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre in Langkawi, hosting the aerospace segment.

The event is expected to attract about 40,000 trade visitors and countless public members, Sabu said, adding that this is testament of LIMA’s ability to generate not just business but wider public interest to these dynamic industries.

LIMA 2019 is scheduled to open on March 26 and last through March 30 with the participation of over 400 businesses from 32 countries and territories.-VNA
