The US Department of Commerce reported that theUS’s trade in goods with Malaysia hit 33.68 billion USD for theJanuary-October period, up 3.9 percent from last year.
Of thefigure, the US spent 22.74 billion USD on imports from the Asiancountry, a year-on-year rise of 4.6 percent, while its exports rose by2.6 percent to 9.8 billion USD.
Malaysian Trade Commissionerin New York Muhd Shahrulmiza Zakaria said he is pleased with the ongoingeconomic recovery in the US, saying that it will help two-way trade.
He said he believes bilateral trade will reach at least 40billion USD this year, equivalent to the figure seen in 2011, a peaktrading year.-VNA
