Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia has launched a group travel pass to encourage more people to use the public transportation system across the Klang Valley, which includes Selangor, Putrajaya, and Kuala Lumpur.

Addressing the launch on November 22, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) Travel Pass, costing 15 MYR (3.75 USD), will give a group of four persons unlimited one-day access to the light rail transit, mass rapid transport, monorail, as well as the bus rapid transit systems on weekends and public holidays.

He noted this initiative is aimed at encouraging Malaysian families to go out and spend quality time with their loved ones at the malls or many tourist attractions along the network in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Convenient, efficient, and interconnected public transport is vital for people’s mobility and also spurs economic growth, the Malaysian PM added./.
