Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - The Malaysian Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) signed a Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) for 2016-2020 in Kuala Lumpur on March 29.

The CCS underlined four priorities for collaboration between Malaysia and the WHO in the coming five years, including universal health insurance coverage and sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The CCS will facilitate multisectoral collaboration and support coordination in the health sector and strengthen policies and capacities to build a more flexible, sustainable and responsive health system that moves even further towards universal health coverage.

The CCS will also strengthen policies and capabilities for assessing, preventing, managing, mitigating and monitoring health risks and chronic conditions in some priority technical focus areas.

Besides, it will facilitate the engagement and use of Malaysian expertise and sharing of experiences.-VNA
