Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysian Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said on June 10 that the Government will do its best to curb the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that economic recovery will continue, starting from the second half of this year.

Speaking at a meeting of the National Inter-Agency Economic Stimulus Implementation and Coordination Unit, Aziz said the public can also play their part by ensuring that they are vaccinated by applying through the MySejahtera mobile application.

He added that as of May 28, the Government approved loans worth 12.06 billion RM (2.9 billion USD) under the SME Soft Loans Funds operated by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), benefiting 25,605 small and medium enterprises.

It has so far issued a number of economic stimulus and financial assistance packages for firms, most recently the PEMERKASA Plus package worth 40 billion RM. Accordingly, SMEs will receive 1,500 RM in June and July./.
