Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - The General Operations Force of Malaysia (GOF) has shot dead three out of seven Filipino gunmen who involved in kidnappings in the waters off Lahad Datu in the state of Sabah.

Sabah Police Commissioner Abd Rashid Harun told a press confernece on December 9 that the gunmen kidnapped a man in the Merabung-Bakapit waters of Lahad Datu at 9:51 am on December 8 (local time), destroyed communication devices on the fishing boat. Then they attacked another fishing ship and seized its captain in the Pulau Gaya waters.

Besides the three, GOF arrested two kidnappers and rescued a captive. However, a captive is still missing together with the two other hijackers.-VNA
