Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysians are increasingly embracing Proton’s e.MAS electric vehicles, with the more than 40-year-old automaker aiming to establish e.MAS as the country’s leading EV brand as part of its long-term electrification strategy.
According to a Proton statement issued on May 22, strong demand for the company’s electric and hybrid vehicle models resulted in the delivery of 11,617 Proton e.MAS vehicles nationwide during the first four months of the year, driving sales up by 329.5%.
Zhang Qiang, chief executive officer of Pro-Net, Proton’s sales and retail arm, said the rapid growth of Proton e.MAS in Malaysia had been fuelled not only by the strength of its product line-up but also by customers’ confidence in the company’s sales and after-sales support ecosystem.
Proton e.MAS currently operates through a network of 53 dealerships across Malaysia, supported by 10 body and paint repair centres and 1,600 personnel working in sales, service and management (3S) operations.
Pro-Net is also implementing plans to further expand its domestic retail network, with a target of adding 40 more 3S dealerships nationwide./.
