RazakSAT, Malaysia's second remote sensing satellite, whose launch on April 21 was put off for technical reasons, will now be launched on July 14, the Bernama news agency reported.

The date was set by Space Exploration Technology (SpaceX) which is responsible for the launch after they had corrected technical problems which were excessive vibrations in the rocket launcher, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Maximus Ongkili was quoted by the agency as saying.

RazakSAT will be launched from Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of Marshall Islands, Minister Ongkili said.

Minister Ongkili said the satellite, which would orbit above the Equator, would not only provide benefits in meteorology and remote sensing but bring in income as other countries could use it for a fee. He added that countries which had expressed interest to use Razaksat were Indonesia and several African countries./.
