Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo previously urged thecommission and the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) to inform the publicabout new election rules following a court ruling on the matter last month.

Accordingly, voters can correct their details up to seven daysbefore the election. People who do not own an electronic identity card can alsovote by using a letter from their local population and civil registrationagency.

Once the vote casting ends, the staff has to fill all documentsand forms by hand to submit to the General Elections Commission (KPU), whichamount to 49.

Thousands of members at polling stations have yet to receivetechnical training, although a minor mistake could affect the elections’results. The KPU said limited budget hinders the preparations for theelections.-VNA
