The fourth annual Mercedes-Benz Masters Vietnam will take place from September 30 to October 2 at the Song Be Golf Resort in Binh Duong province in the form of matchplay for the first-ever in the country.

Thirty-two professional golfers, including two Vietnamese, Tran Le Duy Nhat and Nguyen Thai Duong, will compete during the tournament, with the winner receiving a prize of 60,000 USD.

This Vietnam event is the last one before the season-ending Mercedes-Benz Masters tour that will take place in Indonesia in late October.

Previously, eight others were held, beginning from April, in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia  Singapore and Malaysia.

The top 60 players will be eligible to participate in the Indonesia event for the championship.

Around 10,000 people play golf in Vietnam , with Vietnamese representing only one-half.

The country has only six professional players. Several dozen people earn their living by training golfers./.
