Fast-food giant McDonald’s has just opened its fourth Vietnamese outlet in Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of one year of its presence in the country, the Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper reported.

The newspaper quoted Nguyen Bao Hoang, Director General of the conglomerate’s Vietnamese franchisee, as saying that it sold one million burgers in 2014.

Managing director of McDonald’s Vietnam Nguyen Huy Thinh said the company intends to operate additional 5-6 restaurants this year, adding that it took two years of preparations for the first Mc Donald’s restaurant in the country. He said the first Mc Donald’s in Hanoi may come within the next two years or even sooner.

The executive underlined that the company’s focal task in the immediate future is to develop the domestic supply network.

McDonald’s Vietnam now sources its vegetable from the central highland town of Da Lat and buns from ABC Bakery. Recently it began using domestic eggs for the Dakao outlet on a trial basis.
