The Vietnam-China Friendship Association (VCFA) held a meeting in Hanoi on Sept. 26, gathering Vietnamese people, who used to study or work in China, to mark the 60 th National Day of China (Oct. 1).

Addressing the function, VCFA Doan Manh Giao said many Vietnamese students had studied in China and they made remarkable contributions to national liberation, construction and development in Vietnam .

He expressed thanks to the Chinese Government and people, as well as schools, universities and factories, where Vietnamese people used to study and work.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Sun Quocxiang stressed that Vietnamese students inherited and developed the China-Vietnam friendship with practical activities. They have constituted an important bridge for fine sentiment between the two peoples.

He informed that at present, over 10,000 Vietnamese students are studying in China , ranking Vietnam fourth in number among countries having students studying in his country.

VCFA President Giao and Chinese Ambassador Sun both expressed wishes for the on-going development of the solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China./.
