An international meeting to call for investment in tourism in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Sept. 30.

Themed “Three countries, one destination,” the two-day meeting, which attracted more than 100 delegates, introduced investment opportunities in tourism in three countries to international investors with the hope of making Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia a busy tourism destination.

This was also a step to actualise cooperation between the three countries to create a regional tourism complex.

At the meeting, Director General of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of Laos National Tourism Administration Soukaseum Bodhisane, and Secretary of State of Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism So Mara talked about the tourism development strategy of each country.

They also expressed their belief that foreign investors will succeed in doing business in these countries, thus making contributions to regional development.

Participants suggested the three countries build a joint legal framework for cooperation, grant “one visa for three countries,” and work together to train human resources to overcome existed difficulties and offer high-quality tourism products at a reasonable prices./.
