Over 1,800 billion VND has been disbursed to carry out 12 transportation projects connecting four provinces in the key economic zone of the Mekong Delta.
According to the Mekong Delta’s steering committee for key economic zone, the disbursement is part of a 16,000 billion VND funding the region has spent in building transportation works linking three provinces of An Giang, Kieng Giang, Ca Mau and Can Tho city.
The transportation works are part of a programme to develop infrastructure system in the key economic zone in particular and in the Mekong Delta in general for the regional socio-economic development.
With a GDP growth rate increasing 1.2 times in the 2009-2011 period, the key economic zone has raised its GDP contributions to the nation’s GDP from 10.5 percent in 2009 to 11.6 pe/.
