Vietnam ’s biggest dragon which is made of thousands of metal scraps was put at Nha Trang seaside park in central coastal Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on June 12.

The two-tonne dragon, 4m high and 6m long, is a gift of French sculptor Marc Morvan for local people.

It is one of the biggest records set at the Nha Trang Sea Festival 2009.

Marc Morvan and his Vietnamese collaborators found nearly three tonnes of metal scraps including iron, steel, stainless steel, bomb and grenade casings to complete the work.

The present which symbolises the Vietnamese culture and belief was made on his visit to Nha Trang city on the occasion of the festival. It also aims to celebrate the upcoming millennium anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi , the French sculptor said.
