Mexican businesses flocked to a seminar recently in Sinaloa state to study the Vietnamese market, especially in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and technology transfer.
The event, jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico , Sinaloa state’s authorities and the Mexican Business Council on Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, drew 138 major enterprises operating in sectors such as finance, banking, agroforestry, fisheries, maritime equipment and minerals.
Both Vietnam and Mexico need to seek new markets and partners for economic development in each country, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Le Thanh Tung.
The ambassador also underlined the need for the two sides to boost their cooperation in education and training and culture.
On the occasion, Tung and Vietnamese Trade Counsellor Hoang Anh Dung answered concerns raised by Sinaloa’s businesses regarding investment conditions and environment in Vietnam .
The ambassador also met with Sinaloa’s governor Mario Lopez Valdez and leaders, during which the host side said they desired to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam .
Although Sinaloa accounts for only three percent of Mexico’s area and two percent of the country’s population, the state produces 30 percent of Mexico’s food and foodstuff output and is seen as a locality offering favourable business conditions and a high competitiveness index./.
