France’s Michelin, one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world,has announced its fourth annual tyre safety campaign to expand its reachamong consumers and promote road safety in Vietnam, according to theVietnam Investment Review.
The month-long campaign will starton October 10. It will be located in major supermarkets, shoppingcentres, and plazas in major cities throughout the country. The campaignaims to help drivers improve their road skills and remind them of theirresponsibilities to themselves and other commuters as well as educatingthem on good tyre care.
In 2011, Federation Internationale del’Automobile (FIA) headquartered in Paris launched the Action for RoadSafety campaign in support of a United Nations’ decade-long programmesupporting the same. Also that year, Michelin signed a partnershipagreement with FIA that broadened the federation campaign’s reach andmobilised Michelin’s resources throughout the world.
Established in 1889 in France, Michelin designs, manufactures and sellstyres for nearly every type of vehicle imaginable. The company employs113,400 people, has sales organisations in more than 170 countries, and69 production centres spanning the five continents. The company alsoproduces travel guides and maps.-VNA
