The Prime Minister has approved a programme on activities in Ho Chi Minh City, including a military parade, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the southern region and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2015) .

A grand meeting will be held followed by military and civilian parades along Le Duan Street, in front of Thong Nhat Square. The events will be broadcast live on television nationwide.

The cerebration aims at honouring the historical significance of the April 30 victory, commemorating the individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country’s liberation as well as highlighting the great achievements of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular over the past four decades.-VNA
