Minister lauds ILO role in boosting nation’s labour laws

The International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) cooperation with Vietnam to build labour, employment and social security policies is highly valued by the country, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

He made the statement on Feb. 21 when receivingGyorgy Sziracki, the newly appointed director of the ILO Office inVietnam .

Minh expressed his hope that the twosides will soon complete and sign the national cooperation programme forthe 2012-16 period and suggested that the ILO will make activecontribution to the One United Nations Initiative in Vietnam .

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favourableconditions for ILO activities in the country and will make efforts toengage in common tasks as an official member of the ILO executive boardduring the 2011-14 period.

Sziraczki affirmed thathe will do his best to boost the cooperation between Vietnam and theILO, including the effective implementation of the National Programmefor 2012-16. - VNA
