The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) on March 10 announced they are starting to receive applications for 1,130 scholarships to follow postgraduate studies overseas.

Of the total scholarship scheme this year, 800 will be granted to PhD degree applicants, 300 for masters’ degrees and the remainder of 30 for apprentices.

Ninety percent of the MoET’s scholarships are intended for developing human resources for universities, academies, colleges, research institutes, major laboratories and high-tech centres in the country. The remaining 10 percent are reserved for officials from state agencies, enterprises, and social and political organisations.

The scholarship scheme prioritises such fields as science and technology, social sciences, economics and management, arts and sports, healthcare and pharmacy, agriculture, forestry and fishery./.
