Ministry announces visits by Vietnamese, German leaders

During the visit, the two countries’ high-ranking leaders will discuss cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture, education and existing issues in the two nations’ relations.

At the invitation of Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, State President Truong Tan Sang will pay state visits, to India from Oct. 11-13 and to Sri Lanka from Oct. 13-15, to discuss measures to promote bilateral relations.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will also pay an official visit to Vietnam from Oct. 11-12 to promote comprehensive cooperation in all fields, especially in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, development, education and training, and discuss international and regional issues of mutual concern.

Chancellor Merkel is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and meet high-ranking Vietnamese leaders and visit cultural and economic establishments in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City./.
