50,000 USD to Operation Smile Vietnam for surgeries on 200 children
born with facial deformities.
A bilateral cooperation agreement was signed in Hanoi on Sept. 15 between VMS-Mobifone and Operation Smile, a non-profit organisation to provide free surgeries to children with maxillo-facial deformities in developing countries, including Vietnam.
Also, the two sides will set up a system to seek out patients in need of the surgery. Via this information channel, the two sides plan to raise awareness of the importance of community care among the general population.
Right after signing, Mobifone launched a message service to raise funds for the cause. Donors can send their message with content “smile” or “nu cuoi” to 9250 at charge of 10.000 VND per message. All money raised will go to Operation Smile for upcoming surgeries for Vietnamese children./.
