More Germany’s scholarships to Vietnamese students

Representatives from the German state of Hessen presented 80 scholarships worth 216 EUR (294 USD) each to students studying at universities and colleges in Hanoi and neighbouring localities at a ceremony held in the city on July 11.

Last month, students in a number of other provinces and cities across the country were also given similar scholarships.

Thisis part of an education cooperation programme between the VietnameseMinistry of Education and Training and the Hessen State Ministry forScience and Art (HSMSA), which aims to encourage disadvantaged studentsand those from ethnic minority groups to successful accomplish theirstudies.

In the 2013-2014 academy year, as manyas 200 scholarships of this kind were given to students in over 50universities, colleges and vocational schools across the country.-VNA

Ministry proposes seven-day 2027 Lunar New Year holiday

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs' proposal, civil servants and public employees in Vietnam would receive five statutory days off, including two days before and three days after the Lunar New Year. As two of those days fall on the weekend, they would receive two additional compensatory days off, bringing the total holiday to seven consecutive days.

Vietnam’s hiring outlook to see strong growth in Q4

In Vietnam, among 285 businesses surveyed, 52% expected to increase hiring in Q4, 16% planned to reduce hiring, while 32% intended to maintain their current workforce levels, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey.
