As many as 400 presents worth 100 USD each were given to households in the most flood-hit areas in the central province of Quang Nam on November 19.

The gifts were granted by the Red Cross International Federation and Red Crescent Societies through the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC).

The province has received more than five billion VND (235,000 USD) in cash and essential commodities from the VRC Central Committee, localities and donors nationwide in 2013. The aid has been delivered to people in disaster-hit areas.

From November 19-21, thousands of people affected by floods in central Quang Ngai province are provided with free treatment and medicine, particularly for digestive disorders, skin diseases and conjunctivitis.

The provincial Health Department has also asked local hospitals and clinics to proactively carry out preventive measures to detect and avoid diseases caused by flooding.-VNA
