More inspections needed to halt corruption
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the Office of the
Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption (CSCAC) to partner up
with the relevant agencies to set up inter-departmental inspection and
supervision teams to investigate corruption cases.

Speaking at a conference on July 17 to review the office’s performance in the first half of this year, Phuc, who is also CSCAC deputy head, asked it to assist the committee to address serious cases of corruption.
The Deputy PM also hailed the efforts made by the office, which also acts as an advisor for the CSCAC.
During the fist six months of this year, the office inspected and brought to trial 28 serious and complex cases.
It also closely oversaw the anti-corruption work being carried out at a number of ministries and branches.
Over the reviewed period, the office received 127 citizens who reported corrupt actions and 842 complaints and letters of accusations by post.
Twenty-two of these have been forwarded to the relevant agencies for further treatment./.
