The second chartered flight from Russia with 150 tourists onboard arrived in the central Da Nang city on May 15.

Earlier, on May 12, the first chartered flight from Novosibirsk city of Russia landed in Da Nang international airport, carrying 140 Russian visitors on board.

The third flight will arrive in Da Nang on May 16.

Apart from tourists to Da Nang, Hoi An and Nha Trang beach cities, the flights carry 60 representatives of Russia travel agents and the press to visit and study tourism potential of Da Nang and the central region.

This is the first time a large number of Russian tourists visited Da Nang city by air. To provide good service, the city’s Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism directed hotels, resorts and travel agents to improve the quality of infrastructure, environmental hygiene and security as well as increase tour guides’ Russian language skills.

From May to October, 2012, Da Nang is expected to welcome 54 charter flights from Russia ’s cities, bringing more than 12,000 tourists to the central region of Vietnam .

According to the Da Nang Customs Department, in the first fourth months of 2012, Da Nang welcomed 74,816 tourists coming by air, a rise of 193 percent. The city also welcomed 26,715 passengers on board
cruise liners, up 26 percent.
