The southern province of Dong Thap on July 25 held a reburial ceremony for remains of 119 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who lost their lives during wartime in Cambodia.

Representatives from the locality, the Military Zone 9 and Cambodia’s Prey Veng and Pursat provinces, and locals attended the ceremony at a cemetery in Tam Nong district.

Millions of Vietnamese soldiers laid down for the national liberation during the two resistance wars against French and US forces as well as in international missions in Laos and Cambodia.

Thousands of fallen soldiers are still unaccounted for across Vietnam and the two neighbouring countries.

The search, gathering, repatriation and re-interment of the martyrs are conducted every year, receiving due attention from the Party and the State.-VNA
