Sixteen investment projects totalled over 8.5 trillion VND (476 million USD) have been licensed in the Central Highlands region, the regional Steering Committee announced on Sept. 14.

Of the figure, Dak Lak province had nine projects worth 3.1 trillion VND and Lam Dong province attracted four projects worth 2.5 trillion VND. Kon Tum province drew three projects worth nearly 2.8 trillion VND and Gia Lai province welcomed two projects worth 150 billion VND.

Investors also committed to pouring almost 8.4 trillion VND through other 17 projects in the region, said the committee.

Additionally, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam and the Thai Hoa Group have reached a deal to invest 1 trillion VND in Dak Lak.

According to the committee, 72 businesses and organisations also pledged donations worth a total 73.2 billion VND to the region’s efforts to build houses for poor people./.
