Vietnam's swimmers pocketed three berths to take part in the forthcoming Youth Olympics to be held in China.

The first position belongs to Nguyen Thi Anh Vien who triumphed and set records in nine categories for girls in the 16 – to 18-year-old group at the 38th Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championships that wrapped up in Singapore on June 8.

Her teammates Tran Duy Khoi and Huynh The Vy also received their tickets after outstanding winnings in the boys 50-metre backstroke and 200-metre breaststroke events, respectively.

In fact, Vietnam has five junior athletes qualified for the Nanjing tournament, but the selection is limited to three.

Up to date, athletes competing in badminton, gymnastics, beach volleyball, taekwondo, rowing and weightlifting have qualified.-VNA
