- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune in Hanoi on April 26, saying his visit will contribute to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) choose Vietnam as a model for productivity improvement, starting from specific and key projects, during a reception in Hanoi on April 26 for APO Secretary-General Indra Pradana Singawinata.

The PM also proposed the APO assist Vietnam in fine-tuning mechanisms, human resource training, administrative science, and stepping up international cooperation in the field of productivity. Read full story

- National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended a Vietnam-Argentina business conference in the Argentine province of Santa Fe on April 26.

Taking place at the Rosario Stock Exchange, the event was participated by Governor of Santa Fe Omar Angel Perotti, Governor of Cordoba province Juan Schiaretti, and Governor of Entre Rios province Gustavo Bordet; as well as other officials, heads of trading floors and enterprises from the three central Argentine localities, which account for 60% of the country’s total exports to Vietnam. - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and his entourage arrived in Montevideo on April 26, starting their official visit to Uruguay at the invitation of Speaker of the Senate of Uruguay Beatriz Argimon Cedeira.

Hue is scheduled to hold talks and meet with high-ranking leaders of Uruguay, sign a cooperation agreement between the two law-making bodies, attend a number of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the two countries, and witness the signing of cooperation documents of a number of authorities and localities. - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha received World Bank (WB) Country Director for Vietnam Carolyn Turk in Hanoi on April 26.

Informing his guest on Vietnam’s significant demand for preferential credit, Ha hoped that the WB will support the country in projects on carbon neutralisation and sequestration via afforestation, emission reduction in agricultural production, carbon capture, and green transport development, among others, thereby speeding up the energy transition in Vietnam. - The Global Sourcing Fair Vietnam 2023, an event connecting global buyers with suppliers in Vietnam and other Asian countries, was opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, on April 26.

 The first-ever fair features more than 400 booths of over 200 suppliers from various countries and territories, including Vietnam, China, India, and Thailand, showcasing over 5,000 export-qualified products.
