- Scientists at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)’s NationalInstitute of Virology (NIV) in Pune are training experts from Vietnam, Myanmar,Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand totackle monkeypox amidst escalating concerns over the disease.

As part of India’s response to protecting its population from the new threat,NIV scientists are training their counterparts in these countries on testing,clinical symptoms, case definitions, sample collection, and equipment requiredfor testing. Read full story

- A breast milk bank, the largest of its kind in Vietnam, was inaugurated atHung Vuong Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on August 6.

UN praises Vietnam’s role, contributions to int'l legal forums

Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, affirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance of upholding international law and pledged continued cooperation with the office and other member states to enhance the effectiveness of legal mechanisms, promote legal codification, and advance the development of international law within the UN framework.

Vietnam, Cambodia step up defence cooperation

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said his country values defence cooperation with Vietnam, pledging to support and facilitate Vietnam’s efforts to locate and repatriate the remains of the volunteer soldiers. He also expressed his support for Vietnamese defence enterprises effectively operating in Cambodia.

Brazilian President begins state visit to Vietnam

President Lula da Silva is the first foreign head of state to pay a state visit to Vietnam in 2025. This is also the second time he has visited Vietnam as the head of state, after the first time in 2008.

Vietnam’s April 30 victory a historic moment for whole world: Bolivian diplomat
