– Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong suggested some orientations for advancing Vietnam - Japan relations during online talks with President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio on February 9.
Underlining that their talks were the first among activities marking the 50th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic ties this year, the two leaders agreed to support the two sides’ coordination in holding celebratory activities in order to enhance all-round cooperation and lift bilateral relations to a new level, thus generating practical benefits for the two peoples.Read full text

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Speaker of the Singaporean Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin both voiced their hope for increasingly close-knit, substantive, and fruitful ties between the two countries at their meeting on February 9.

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 9 received Teo Chee Hean, Singaporean Senior Minister & Coordinating Minister for National Security, as part of his ongoing official visit to the country.
Chinh suggested Teo further his contributions to boosting the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership across all fields via increasing the bilateral delegation exchanges at all levels and cooperation in defence-security, education-training, science-technology, digital, green and circular economy, energy transition and innovation, among others.

-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received leaders of Standard Chartered in Singapore on February 9 as part of his official visit to the city state.

– Vietnam encourages practical and effective actions to address the consequences of war in the country, contributing to strengthening the friendship and good cooperative relations between the people of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), deputy spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Doan Khac Viet told its regular press conference on February 9.
Viet shared Vietnam’s views on the Seoul Central District Court’s February 7 ruling requesting the RoK Government to pay compensation for Vietnamese citizen Nguyen Thi Thanh - the plaintiff in the lawsuit regarding the massacre of civilians during the Vietnam war in Phong Nhi village, Dien An ward, Dien Ban town,  Quang Nam central province in 1968.Read full text

– The Ministry of Public Security on February 9 held a send-off ceremony for personnel deployed for aiding search and rescue activities in Turkey, which was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on February 6.

– The Trade Office of Vietnam in India held a webinar on February 8 to update Vietnamese businesses about regulations and procedures for opening branches in the South Asian country.
In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in India Bui Trung Thuong noted bilateral trade reached 15 billion USD in 2022, turning India into the eight biggest trading partner of Vietnam.
