- The Vietnamese Government commits to creating all possible conditions for businesses to growth further, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed at the Vietnam Business Forum 2023 (VBF 2023) in Hanoi on March 19. Reviewing the country’s socio-economic recovery and development achievements in 2022, the PM said the macro economy remained stable, major economic balances were ensured, and notably the domestic investment and business environment was improved significantly. - State-run groups and corporations must operate effectively to contribute to building an independent and self-reliant economy, Prime Minister Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested on March 18 at a conference on solutions to innovate the operation of the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) and effectively promote investment resources of State groups and corporations. - The Paris-based Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) held a round-table discussion on March 18 to review its activities in the recent past and introduce coming projects. Prof. Nguyen Duc Khuong, Chairman of the association, said the AVSE Global, whose predecessor was the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France, was established in Paris in 2011 with a view to connecting overseas Vietnamese scientists and experts to capitalise on their potential. - Vietnam’s Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of China (SASAC) held a conference on reform and development of State-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Beijing on March 18. CMSC Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh, SASAC Chairman Zhang Yuzhuo, and Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Sao Mai attended the event. Read full story

- The Vietnam pavilion attracted a large number of visitors to the 26th Mediterranean Tourism Exchange (BTM), organised from March 16 to 18 in the Italian city of Napoli. This is the first time that the Embassy of Vietnam in Italy participated in the BTM, one of the largest annual tourism events in the European country, which attracts more than 10,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors from 26 countries. - Nearly 30 technicians and managers attended a training class on March 18 as a preparation for the operation of urban railway Metro Line No 1 (Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien) in Ho Chi Minh City. According to Akira Hosomi, operation and maintenance specialist of NJPT Contractors Consortium, Ho Chi Minh City’s Metro line No. 1 using Japanese technologies is the first project in Vietnam that Japanese experts have transferred the know-how to Vietnamese operators. - A forum linking more than 11,000 locations at home and abroad was held on March 17 to gather opinions of youth union members, teenagers, and children and discuss solutions to issues that young people are concerned about. The event, organised by the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMCYU) Central Committee, focused on two main themes, namely promoting youth’s strength to build a prosperous and happy country and creating an environment for children to develop comprehensively.
