– General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam talked over the phone with President-elect of the US Donald Trump on November 11 evening.

The Party leader congratulated Trump on being elected the 47th President of the US while highly valuing the latter’s contributions to the development of the two countries’ relations. Read full story

– Vietnam and Chile on November 11 issued a 14-point joint statement on President Luong Cuong’s official visit to the South American country from November 9-11 at the invitation of Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font.

According to the document, both leaders held talks on the bilateral friendship as well as global and regional issues of mutual concern. Read full story

– The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), in coordination with the Vietnam - China Friendship Association, on November 11 organised a scientific seminar highlighting President Ho Chi Minh as a symbol of solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese and Chinese revolutions.

The event marked 100 years since Ho Chi Minh came to Guangzhou, China, to engage in revolutionary activities (November 11, 1924 - 2024). Read full story

– E-cigarettes and heated tobacco products were at the centre of a question-and-answer event at the ongoing 8th session of the 15th National Assembly (NA) on November 11.

In response to a query raised by a deputy from the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on solutions to e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products, which are a danger to human health, especially adolescents, Minister of Heath Dao Hong Lan said that the use of these products is rapidly increasing and poses potential health and safety risks, especially for young people. – The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has applied a 0% interest rate on foreign currency deposits to address foreign exchange and exchange rate volatility, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong explained during a question-and-answer event at the 15th National Assembly’s 8th session.

Hong noted that in the past, surplus foreign currency was often hoarded rather than sold off into the economy. Since 2016, the SBV has implemented coordinated measures aimed at controlling inflation to stabilise the Vietnamese dong (VND), one of which is the 0% interest rate on foreign currency deposits. - Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien on November 11 led a Ministry of National Defence delegation to inspect on-site preparations for the 2024 Vietnam International Defence Expo at Gia Lam Airport in Hanoi.

Chien highly appreciated the determination and efforts of the organising committee, the General Department of Defence Industry, and other agencies and units in the implementation of preparations for the exhibition. Read full story

– The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) have long been partners in external information, contributing to effectively realising the Party and State's foreign policies, VNA General Director Vu Viet Trang said on November 11 during a working session with heads of Vietnamese representative bodies abroad for the 2025-2028 term.
