- Vietnam hopes to establish long-term stable trade and investment ties with Australia and receive technology in sustainable coal mining and processing from Australia. Read full story
- The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has welcomed offers given by developed countries, including the UK, to support Vietnam in building legal frameworks and provide Vietnam with necessary technologies, experience and capital to develop renewable energy in order to realise commitments at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). - A conference took place in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang on April 5, spotlighting the delta’s implementation of a national target programme for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for 2021-2025.
The national target programme targets to reduce the number of communes and hamlets with special difficulties by 50 percent by 2025; and basically put the percentage to zero percent by 2030. Its first stage is being rolled out from 2021-25. The NA has approved more than 137 trillion VND (5.98 billion USD) to implement the programme from now to the end of 2025. Read full story
- USAID and the Ministry of Planning and Investment on April 5 launched the Mekong Innovation Initiative to help Vietnam advance the digital economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution through developing a more robust, digitally-ready workforce and mobilise resources to support innovation in the Mekong Region.

- Vietnam cruised to 7-1 win over Timor Leste on April 5 to climb to the top of Group B in the 2022 AFF Futsal Championship. Vietnam has set a top three target to win a place at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, which is scheduled in Kuwait from September 25 to October 20. Read full story./.
