– Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception for President of the National Assembly of People's Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez in Hanoi on October 1.

The Vietnamese Party leader welcomed Esteban Lazo’s official trip, which coincides with the 65th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties (December 2, 1960–2025), and the “Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Year”. He said that the visit reflects the special attention of the Cuban Party, State, National Assembly, and people, and the top legislator himself toward the special friendship, traditional solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. – Party General Secretary To Lam received President of the Data Centre Group at Marvell Technology Inc. Sandeep Bharathi in Hanoi on October 1, during which he called on the US firm to expand its investment in Vietnam in the coming period.

– State President Luong Cuong and a delegation of National Assembly (NA) deputies of Ho Chi Minh City on October 1 met with local voters at Tan An commune political centre to listen to their opinions ahead of the 10th session of the 15th legislature.

– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged concerted efforts to ensure the two-tier local government system operates harmoniously, smoothly, and comprehensively to meet the expectations of the Party, State, and people, with the new administrative apparatus performing better than the old one in serving the people and enterprises.

Concluding the Government’s meeting on reviewing and removing bottlenecks for the implementation of the two-tier local government model on October 1, PM Chinh underscored that as long as citizens continue to complain, the Government must work to find effective solutions, and where localities remain underdeveloped, the Government must take responsibility for supporting and driving growth. – Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien had a meeting with the Russian delegation who are in Vietnam for the first Vietnam – Russia People’s Forum on October 1, during which he highlight the event as a meaningful one to deepen the friendship between the two countries while opening up new ways for people-to-people diplomacy.

Vietnamese, Lao police forces foster security cooperation

Legislature scrutinises specialised court model at int’l financial centre

Establishing a specialised court at the International Financial Center is necessary to institutionalise the Party’s policies and conclusions of the competent authorities. The court aims to provide a fast and effective mechanism for resolving disputes arising from business and investment activities at the centre.

PM pushes comprehensive financing for Mekong Delta climate response

Land subsidence, landslides, flooding, drought, and saltwater intrusion have directly affected the livelihoods and daily lives of people in the Mekong Delta that accounts for 12.8% of the country’s area and nearly 18% of its population, and contributes 95% of the nation’s rice exports, 60% of its aquatic exports, and 65% of its fruit exports.
