The longest trans-mountain tunnel in Vietnam with a total length of nearly 10km at Nam Chien 1 Hydropower Plant in Son La province has been completed.
Work on the Irrigation Tunnel Nam Chien 1 began in 2007, starting in Ngoc Chien commune and finishing in Chieng San commune, Muong La district and was completed on May 8.
Nam Chien 1 Hydropower Plant is located about 40km from Son La Hydropower Plant and costs a total of 600 billion VND (31.5 million USD) to build.
It is scheduled to generate power by the end of 2011 with a capacity of 200MW./.
