Two large murals by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi have been awarded a gold medal in the Public Arts Design for Society at A’Design Awards & Competition in Italy.
The paintings feature lotus ponds with the light of a sunset and white lotus flowers, creating a romantic and soft colour tone.
Thuy’s mural art has quickly become a popular feature at Noi Bai International Airport. The image features a lotus flower pond pained across a 360sq.m wall.
The lotus flower is an important symbol in Vietnamese culture, not only is it the logo of the national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, but it is also considered the country’s national flower.-VNA
