A large-scale music festival featuring all music genres delighted Hanoians with a range of performances at different sites across the capital on August 23.

The Fall Music Festival was kicked off at two outdoor stages at Vincom Towers on Ba Trieu Street and Hanoi Railway Station at 16pm with the performance of well-known artists including Duong Hoang Yen, Vu Ha Anh, To Minh Duc, Minh Quan Idol, Hoang Bach as well as the acoustic bands of Flamenco and Rhapsody Philharmonic.

More performances began later at Indochina Plaza at 241 Xuan Thuy Street and Cau Giay Park on Dich Vong Street featuring a variety of music from pop, rock to folk .

A stage at the Ly Thai To Statue on Dinh Tien Hoang Street was dedicated to Cheo (traditional opera) performance with the participations of veteran artists Thanh Hoai, Xuan Dieu and Thu Hang.

Meanwhile, modern music fans gathered at Thong Nhat Park on Tran Nhan Tong Street and Van Ho Exhibition Centre to watch their favourite singers and dancers such as Ha Anh Tuan, Luu Huong Giang and groups St319 and Oplus.

Two sites frequented by tourists in the Old Quarter, in front of the Dong Xuan market and Ta Hien Street, were chosen to host two artistic performances.

Later on, p op stars such as Ha Anh Tuan, Luu Huong Giang, Uyen Linh, Hoang Bach , Dinh Manh Ninh, Ta Quang Thang t ook the stage at the main event, a big concert at the August Revolution Square in front of the Opera House .

This was the first music festival of large scale ever held in Hanoi, and the municipal authorities hope to make it an annual event .

Musician Quoc Trung, the festival's music director said the event was organised on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Day in a bid to introduce different music genres to the capital’s citizens-VNA
