Myanmar has put into service a village built for athletes and coaches to the 27th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 27) in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw.

Located near Wunna Theikdi stadium, where the event’s opening and closing ceremonies will take place, the village covers 10 hectares and includes 10 clusters that can accommodate 2,500 people.

The clusters also house training areas, swimming pools, entertainment centres, media rooms, and dining rooms, among others.

SEA Games 27 is scheduled to officially open on December 11 and close on December 22.

Vietnam will send a combined team of 750 athletes and officials to the Games, where they will compete in 29 of 33 sports events at the tournament, hoping to bring home at least 70 gold medals.

At the last SEA Games held in Jakarta two years ago, Vietnam ranked third, winning 96 gold medals, trailing the host Indonesia with 182 and Thailand with 109.-VNA
