A delegation of Myanmar’s government officials and diplomats is paying a working visit to Indonesia to prepare their country for the role of ASEAN Chair in 2014.
The ASEAN Secretariat said in a press release of on May 22 that during the visit, the delegation hear introduction to working processes and procedures of ASEAN and the ASEAN Secretariat focusing on the functions of an ASEAN Chair and identification of priority topics of the ASEAN Agenda.
The delegation and the Indonesian side are scheduled to exchange experience of the chairmanship the country hold in 2011.
Besides, the Myanmar officials and diplomats will consult with the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR) about expectations concerning the ASEAN Chair 2014.
The visit of the Myanmar delegation is organised by the German Federal Foreign Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretariat.-VNA
