Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have agreed on visa exemption as part of their bid to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Myanmar ’s Popular Newsweekly reported on January 5.
An agreement to this effect has been signed by Myanmar ’s Foreign Minister U Nyan Win and the RoK’s Ambassador to Myanmar .
Under the agreement, the visa exemption is applied to diplomats and special passport holders of the two nations.
Since early 2010, Myanmar and the RoK have strengthened their cooperative relations in many fields such as technology, trade, investment and education. The RoK has poured investment in plenty of sectors in Myanmar , including mining, agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, construction and electronics.
Last December, a deputy ministerial level meeting was held to discuss a possibility of cooperation in the fields of energy and natural resources./.
