Hanoi (VNA) – The Myanmar Government on July 11 formed an 11-member National Reconciliation and Peace Centre (NRPC), led by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, according to an announcement of the Myanmar President’s Office.

The formation is aimed to effectively and successfully carry out the work of national reconciliation and lasting peace and to lay down the policy and guidelines in the implementation, the statement said.

U Kyaw Tint Swe, minister of the State Counselor' Office, and Tin Myo Win, chairman of the Preparatory Committee for Holding Panglong Conference, were appointed as the centre’s vice chairmen.-VNA
