More resolutions and draft amended laws were adopted at a plenary sitting of the National Assembly’s ongoing fifth session in Hanoi on June 20.

Under the chair of NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, legislators passed a resolution on ratifying the State budget estimate for 2011.

While debating the revised Law on Bidding, 18 lawmakers from 15 centrally-governed cities and provinces voiced their opinions about the management of bidding activities, appraisals of tender documents, contracts with tenders and investors, rights and responsibilities of relevant parties, and the settlement of violations, among others.

In the afternoon sitting presided over by NA Deputy Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son, they adopted a resolution on the NA’s supervision agenda for next year.

After hearing a draft report resolution on the negotiations for the signing of a Government-level agreement on settling free migration and unregistered marriages along the Vietnam-Laos border, legislators voted to adopt the document.

Besides a law on conciliation at the grassroots level, law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Residence and Article 17 of the Corporate Law were also reached. On June 21, they will deliberate the draft Law on Plant Protection and Quarantine and pass several resolutions.-VNA
