Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Phu Trong on Feb. 9 paid a Tet visit to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), wishing more than 35,000 staff a happy new year.
Chairman Trong expressed his pleasure with PetroVietnam’s achievements in contributing to the country’s economic development with earnings from crude oil exports of nearly 8 billion USD and state budget contributions of more than 91.5 trillion VND, making up 24 percent of the total state budget collection.
He urged PetroVietnam to devise and implement concrete action plans for the group as well as each of its members in advancing the oil and gas sector’s development strategy.
PetroVietnam Chairman Dinh La Thang affirmed his group’s determination to be the country’s leading economic group. With three breakthrough solutions in its sector targets of human resources, management and science-technology, the group expects to fulfill the five-year plan of 2006-2010 ahead of schedule, he added./.
